Action PlanFollow-up Report
She has worked for various retail companies in management and training and eventually went onto self-employment with her. They were enjoyable and productive years, but she envied those with qualifications and felt she had more to give.
After closing her business in 2018, she took the opportunity to return to education fulltime and completed Social Studies Level 5 in Sligo College of Further Education in Ballinode. She loved it, made new friends, gained new skills and confidence. She returned the following year and completed Community Development Level 6.During that year Bernadette completed a placement with the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland and felt really at home working with the older person, particularly regarding activities. She secured fulltime employment with ASI and continues to enjoy the role.
In her spare time, Bernadette enjoys art & craft and a spot of DIY and gardening. She loves to read and catch up with family and friends. You could say her latest hobby is telling everyone how great returning to education has been!
