We are always trying to improve quality assurance. We do this through a formal process known as Quality Enhancement, which involves promoting and spreading effective practice in an ever-evolving quality assurance system.

Quality in an Era of Diminishing Resources, 2016
This report, published in March 2016, is an analysis of published quality review reports of public higher education institutions in Ireland in the period 2008-2015. The report focuses specifically on the perceived impact of reduced funding on the quality of teaching and learning. Click here to read a copy of the report.

Review of Reviews, 2014
We published an analysis of key themes emerging from the institutional reviews of legacy bodies to help us identify areas for enhancement in the higher education sector. Click here for the report published in 2014.

Events

We regularly host conferences and events to engage with our stakeholders and promote quality assurance in education and training in Ireland. Most QQI conferences are by invitation only and are heavily subscribed.

Initiatives

National Student Engagement Programme
The National Student Engagement Programme is a collaborative initiative under development by the Union of Students in Ireland (USI), the Higher Education Authority (HEA), and Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). It was launched as a pilot in April 2016. Five higher education institutions are involved in the pilot phase.  For more information, please click here.
