Part of our role at NARIC Ireland is promoting understanding of the Irish education and training system abroad. We perform this role in our capacity as an ENIC-NARIC Centre. The ENIC-NARIC (European Network of Information Centres/National Academic Recognition Information Centres) is a network of centres that facilitate the recognition of academic qualifications throughout Europe and further afield, including the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
For further information and contact details for each centre view

The following resources may be of use where you have questions on the Irish education system or Irish qualifications:
Description of the Irish education and training system:
The Eurydice Network provides information on and analyses of European education systems and policies (see
here for more information). The Irish Eurydice unit has developed a detailed profile of the Irish education system which can be accessed
here. The profile describes the structures, institutions and qualifications of each sector of the education and training system.
The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ):
The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) is a key tool for understanding the Irish education and training system. The NFQ is a system of ten levels and is used to describe the Irish qualifications system. Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) is responsible for the development and promotion of the NFQ. You can find additional information on the NFQ
here.
Travelling abroad with an Irish qualification?
If you hold a higher education and training qualification, you should contact the ENIC-NARIC office in the country where you wish to have the qualification recognised. The following link will take you to the
ENIC-NARIC website. The names and contact details of our colleagues in many countries are available on this site.
If you hold a further education and training award, you should contact the National Reference Point (NRP) for vocational qualifications in the appropriate country. Contact details for each NRP are published on the Europass portal website; please click
here.
When travelling abroad you may find some of the Europass documents helpful. Europass is an initiative which aims to help you make your skills and qualifications clearly and easily understood in Europe and further afield - whether you are enrolling in an education or training programme, looking for a job, or getting experience abroad.
See
www.europass.ie for further information.
